The Last of Us Part 2 will be featured at Tuesday’s PlayStation State of Play

“I’m gonna find… and I’m gonna kill… every last one of them.”

That’s the teaser text for The Last of Us Part 2 on PS4 that Naughty Dog is using to promote the game’s upcoming appearance during Sony’s PlayStation State of Play event on Tuesday.

The tweet from Naughty Dog’s official Twitter account shows a switchblade with the date and time for the State of Play event (September 26 at 1 PM Pacific).

We suspected that The Last of Us Part 2 would be among the new games that Sony intended to promote during the event. Now we have official word that the game will indeed be a part of the show.

The Last of Us is PS3’s swan song. Despite being one of the last titles released on the system, it is among PS3’s top-selling games having sold over 17 million copies.

The Last of Us Part 2 is its sequel. Set five years after the original, the potty-mouthed yet resourceful girl Ellie has grown into a young woman as she steps in as the lead character in Part 2.

The last time we saw Ellie was during the E3 2018 trailer where she had a kiss scene and a deadly encounter with a mysterious cult. We’re not entirely sure what role Joel will play in the story, but hopefully we’ll find out more on Tuesday!
