The Magnificent Trufflepigs out now on PC, coming soon to Switch

The Magnificent Trufflepigs

AMC Games’ first-person, romantic metal detecting game is currently available on Steam. It’s also coming to the Nintendo Switch later this summer.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs is a romantic metal-detecting narrative adventure with plenty of riches for players to find, created by Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture lead designer Andrew Crawshaw and composed by BAFTA-nominated musician Kevin Penkin.

Players take on the role of Adam, who returns to his boyhood hamlet to assist a woman named Beth on her quest to uncover a local treasure, played by Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who, Broadchurch). The game allows players to achieve a longstanding (or recently discovered) goal of metal-detecting while immersing themselves in a tightly-paced dramatic story set in the idyllic English countryside.

“The Magnificent Trufflepigs encapsulates Thunkd’s mission to deliver games that tell compelling, human-shaped stories that are also evening-sized so that they can fit into busy lifestyles,” said Thunkd director Andrew Crawshaw.

“This game is a meditation on life, the paths we take, and the people who make us what we are,” said Clayton Neuman, VP of Games for AMC Networks. “AMC Games is honored to have played a part in bringing Andrew’s vision to the surface, and we can’t wait for players to dig in.”

The Magnificent Trufflepigs is out now on PC for $11.99 at the Steam store with a 10% launch discount.
