The Oregon Trail: Music from the Gameloft Game, the soundtrack for the award-winning game exclusive for Apple Arcade, is out now.
The soundtrack release coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the franchise. The classic game was first released on December 3, 1971. The soundtrack’s release also comes as the Apple Arcade version received its fourth and latest update.
The Oregon Trail: Music from the Gameloft Game is the first official album release from Gameloft for The Oregon Trail. It is the latest album release from the game publisher and developer, following the November 2021 release of High Scores: Music from Gameloft Games.
The soundtrack was composed by award-winning Gameloft composer Nicolas Dubé, who crafted the contemporary alt-country sound. Gameloft also worked with Native American scholars on the tone and instrumentation of tracks for stories that highlight Indigenous peoples.
“It’s a joy to see this soundtrack release so that players can experience The Oregon Trail even if they haven’t played the game,” said Nicolas Dubé, Music Composer at Gameloft Montreal and Composer for The Oregon Trail.
“We really wanted to create something that touches upon the adventure of the trail, the pain of the struggles and hardships, and the joy and elation of successfully reaching Oregon or fording a river or taking care of your party. This soundtrack is something we’re really proud of, a moody alt-country experience that should speak to fans of the game and more,” Dubé added.
