2K Games is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original Mafia video game.
You can snag a free copy of the original Mafia on Steam. The giveaway is part of the 20th-anniversary celebration for the franchise and the game that started it all.
Needless to say, the original game is pretty dated now, but the PC version is superior to the PlayStation 2 and Xbox ports that came out later. The game takes place in Lost Heaven (New York City) during the Great Depression.
2K Games released Mafia: Definitive Edition along with Mafia: Trilogy back in 2020. The Definitive Edition is a remake of the game built using the Mafia III game engine.
The giveaway runs from September 1 through September 5 on PC via Steam.
