The relationship-building game We Should Talk launches today

We Should Talk

The short-form narrative game We Should Talk is out now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

We Should Talk comes from publisher Whitethorn Digital and indie developer Insatiable Cycle. You may recall that Whitehorn Digital recently released another neat indie title, Evan’s Remains. I gave that game a 3.5 out of 5, writing that it had a “compelling storyline and interesting puzzles.”

So, given that, my hopes are high for We Should Talk, which is about relationships and the nuances of communication. It has you think carefully about your word choices – which I do every day, anyway, as a writer and editor.

Here are some more details from the developer:

Using a unique narrative choice mechanic, you’ll craft sentences in response to the in-game characters in We Should Talk. Through this careful choice of words, you’ll be able to express yourself as you discuss ongoing problems about life and romance with Sam, your in-game partner, over text messages, while also chatting with friends and strangers at your favorite local bar about what’s on your mind.

The combination of words you choose impacts the conversations you have, how genuinely you can connect with your partner, and whether your relationship can survive the night. It’s up to you how you respond — depending on how you communicate, you’ll see one of many possible endings.

Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? We Should Talk retails for $6.99. It is available digitally on PC and consoles. We’ll have a review of the game up in the next week, so be on the lookout!
