The game that has been in development since 2017, and was scheduled to launch this month, is delayed indefinitely.

Ubisoft announced today that The Settlers, its real-time strategy game with Age of Empires elements, will be delayed after a number of negative responses to the beta. The game was scheduled to be released on March 17, but despite the development team thinking the game was almost ready, it received a tidal wave of negative feedback, requests for changes, and more.

Through a post on Ubisoft’s website, the development team has let us know about this important decision about the game after the feedback of from the Closed Beta.

“The recent Closed Beta was a great opportunity for all participating players to share valuable feedback regarding the current state of the game, and we’d like to thank you for your involvement.” said The Settlers development team.

“As we went through this feedback, it became clear to our team that the quality wasn’t yet in line with the team’s vision. Therefore, we took the decision to postpone the launch of the game to a later date.” They added.

While The Settlers may not be a popular game among all types of gamers, fans of strategy games had it in their sights. Although the delay of games is always listed as a negative thing, it is to be applauded that the development team, seeing the many negative elements in the game, made the decision to delay it. Although it is an indefinite delay, we expect Ubisoft to provide more information about the game’s release in the coming months.
