The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update is arriving just in time for Christmas.
CD Projekt RED today announced The Witcher 3 release date on next-gen consoles. The long-awaited PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions were delayed indefinitely earlier this year due to the war in Ukraine. However, we have since gotten word that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt free next-gen update would launch in Q4 2022.
If you looked at a calendar recently, you would know that Q4 2022 is here. So it is nice to finally get confirmation of an official release date for the next-gen version of this AAA title.
The free next-gen upgrade was originally announced in 2020. It was due for release in 2021 but got delayed. The latest delay pushed the project until Q4 2022. CD Projekt shifted development from Saber Interactive’s Russian studio.
Here is what they are now saying in a new tweet:
The next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming on December 14th, free for everyone who already owns the game. For more details and gameplay reveal, tune in to REDstreams next week on twitch.tv/cdprojektred.
