The Wonderful 101: Remastered just smashed its Kickstarter goal

The Wonderful 101: Remastered

Platinum Games is bringing The Wonderful 101: Remastered to PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch after smashing its crowdfunding goal.

The fan-favorite superhero action-adventure game was originally released on the Nintendo Wii U. It came from Platinum Games, the same studio behind the cult classics MadWorld and Bayonetta. Hideki Kamiya acted as the game’s director.

“In this game, players take control of the Wonderful Ones, heroes from all over the world chosen to defend the Earth from all manner extraterrestrial threats,” Platinum Games says. “When the peaceful Blossom City comes under attack by alien invaders, Wonder-Red, Wonder-Blue, and the rest of the Wonderful Ones suit up and unite to save the world!”

The initial Kickstarter goal was to raise $50,000 to fund a Nintendo Switch version. So far, fans have raised over $1.2 million. Stretch goals have been unlocked, including Steam and PS4 versions.

Backers who pledge $36 will receive a digital copy of the game. Backers who pledge at least $41 will receive a physical copy. Additionally, backers will receive DLC unlocked via stretch goals for free.

The single largest pledge category is for a whopping $1,840. There have been seven backers who have pledged that amount so far. They are entitled to a physical comic book, Centinels ID card, an artbook, a vinyl record soundtrack, a replica jacket, and more.
