If you can’t wait for June 27, you can begin your adventure on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch right now with the new demo from NEO: The World Ends With You.
Square Enix has announced that a free playable demo for the upcoming action RPG NEO: The World Ends with You is now available on the PlayStation Store and the Nintendo eShop. The game launches on July 27, 2021, for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with a PC version available later this summer on the Epic Games Store.
Here’s what to expect
In the demo, players will be transported to the bustling streets of Shibuya in this long-awaited sequel to the RPG classic The World Ends with You. Follow protagonist Rindo on his quest to survive and uncover the mysteries behind the sinister “Reapers’ Game,” a life-or-death battle in which he has been forced to participate.
Downloading the demo allows gamers to experience the first two days of the Reapers’ Game, introducing them to protagonist Rindo, his friend Fret, and a slew of other stylish and memorable characters. In addition, players will be able to complete missions, begin their collection of pins granting various Psychs, and get a taste of the game’s frenetic combat against the enigmatic Noise, utilizing a variety of flashy combat Psychs to suit their playstyle.
For those who purchase NEO: The World Ends With You on the same platform, progress in the campaign will be carried over to the full game without any problems. Square Enix also released the game’s final trailer, which gives a closer look at a comic-inspired Shibuya filled with shops and restaurants, the colorful cast of characters, and the dangers Rindo and the Wicked Twisters will face as they play through the Reapers’ Game.
In addition to the demo, physical pre-orders are open on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
