After a rough launch with WWE 2K20, 2K Games is not releasing a new game in the franchise this year.
According to Kotaku:
During a call with investors, WWE interim chief financial officer Frank Riddick responded to a question about the release of WWE 2K21 by saying “there’s not going to be a launch of a game this year.”
WWE 2K20 seemed to have a lot going for it. They added the story and classic fights of the Four Horsewomen. The game also featured a diverse soundtrack. But the core of the product – after being handed off to a new developer – was buggy and left many players unsatisfied.
