Friday the 13th is a unique date for horror fans. It is incredible how much this date has marked pop culture worldwide from the movie industry to the video game industry. The arrival of Thomas William Lawson’s novel has marked the way we see this date today.

Screams, jump scares, and suspense are three elements that every gamer has experienced with horror games. Even though most gamers are terrified of these games, we can’t help but suffer through them. And many of them have followed the terrifying basis of the Friday the 13th novel. Therefore, to celebrate this date, for those fans and not so fans of this genre, we bring you a list.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl | December 8, 2022 | PC, Xbox Series X

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl puts its scope on an illegal scavenger named Skiff. As one of the inhabitants of the nuclear wasteland, it is up to the few remaining collectors to compile all of the necessary resources to survive. Along the way, however, outlandish creatures threaten the hollow landscape that once homed the remnants of a peaceful civilization. Unfortunately, it’s your duty to outlive the impossible and start anew.

Although it was delayed until December, we should still get this much-anticipated game before the end of the year.

Sons of the Forest | October 2022 | PC

If you played The Forest, this survival horror game, you will know what it means to be in constant tension. For all those fans who were left wanting more, a new installment of the series awaits: Sons of the Forest. The Endnight Games team brings us a sequel full of action, cooperative gameplay, and a lot of terror.

In Sons of the Forest you will enter a world where no place is safe. You must fight a series of mutated creatures, some almost human, and others that are unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. Armed with guns, axes, stun batons and more, protect yourself and those you care about.

When a game’s graphics and gameplay become a priority, it’s not uncommon for an indie developer to take longer than expected to launch. This is what has happened with Scorn, a horror adventure game that will make your skin crawl every second. Every detail of the game has been perfected by the Ebb Software team over the last few years. Thus achieving one of the most awaited adventure horror games by fans of the genre.

In Scorn we will live an adventure ready to break your convictions about video games in first person. The game allows you to visit grotesque and disturbing environments that seem to have come out of the mind of H.R. Giger himself. Well, Supermassive Games brings us a new game, with a cast of first-class actors, where we will live the horror at its best. Although the story may seem like a typical Hollywood cliché, you have no idea what awaits you in The Quarry.

Actors like Justice Smith, Brenda Song, and more will star in this interactive thriller; in it you will be pursued by both bloodied Hackett’s Quarry locals and something much more sinister. Compared to the studio’s previous games, The Quarry will have an impressive 186 different endings. Undoubtedly, with this game you will live an unforgettable cinematic horror experience.

Evil Dead: The Game | May 13, 2022 | PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, PC

If you don’t want to wait any longer to try one of the games we previously mentioned during Summer Game Fest, Evil Dead: The Game is out today! Inspired by the cinematic horror franchise, it will take the most famous characters into a thrilling battle against the forces of darkness. With fluid gameplay, packed with weapons and elements from the movies, you’ll be able to kick Deadite butts.

The four survivors must work as a team to defeat enemies, and take down the evil Kandarian Demon. Or you can also become the Demon himself and use his powers of possession to stop the good guys and strip them of their souls.
