Top 5 underrated retro Star Wars games

In 1983, the first Star Wars creations came to the video game industry. Since then, more than 40 games were released from the arcades to the PlayStation 5. But, today we will focus on the best Star Wars games released up to 2012.

5. Super Star Wars Trilogy

Super Star Wars Trilogy

I know, it’s hard to mention just one specific title from the trilogy that saw the SNES from 1992 to 1994. For that time, it was one of the best games the Nintendo console had; even more when we talk about one of the best platformers that existed in the ’90s. Therefore, it is impossible to mention only one title of this trilogy.

4. Star Wars Galaxies

Star Wars Galaxies

When we mention MMO and Star Wars, it is impossible not to think of Star Wars Galaxies. Although the franchise had different MMO games, this one undoubtedly stands out for the technological advancement that it presented us in 2003.

Even though nostalgia plays a very important role, the opportunity to have battles like the ones we saw in the movies from our PC was incredible.  Although its official servers have been closed since 2005, the game has a large community behind it that through private servers do not stop playing this memorable title.

3. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars

If Lego stands out in something it is for its great crossovers between franchises. Star Wars is no exception; even its third title of the franchise is one of the best made so far. The game came out in 2011, but it was impossible to leave it out of the top. Although Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is a great title, which marked a great stage in 2006, The Clone Wars surpassed it.

If you are looking to laugh at witticisms, enjoy the classic mechanics of Lego games, and live the adventure in a very different way, you can’t miss this title.

2. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005)

Star Wars Battlefront 2

Although this series was taken over by EA leaving many fans of the franchise disappointed, Star Wars Battlefront will always be remembered for its second great installment. This incredible game, which even had a remarkable port on the PSP, marked an era in 2005. With its great multiplayer and its very well done campaigns, this third-person shooter is one of the best titles in the history of Star Wars.

1. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Star Wars The Force Unleashed.

Normally, among Star Wars fans, Knight of the Old Republic is the best Star Wars title. But if we compare it against other ARPGs of the genre of the same date, it lags a bit behind. Therefore, if you are looking for a game that has innovated in every aspect, with an engaging story and eye-catching graphics for the time, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is the way to go.
