Trophy is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X

Trophy

The NES game Trophy is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X thanks to Retrotainment Games and Mega Cat Studios.

8Bit Legit, the new project born from the collaboration of Retrotainment Games and Mega Cat Studios, announced today that they will make a port of Trophy for Xbox consoles. It’s a platformer released for NES that is reminiscent of the Mega Man series. The Xbox version arrives later this week.

A project to bring retro games to modern consoles

This new collaboration between two of the industry’s indie developers intends to choose and distribute the best fresh and genuine vintage games for fans to enjoy. Their focus is not just on physical cartridges but also on their preferred contemporary platforms.

“We are so excited to see retro grow so much this past year. It’s unprecedented – and there was no better timing to unveil our not-so-secret love affair with Retrotainment Games than in conjunction with the release of Trophy,” said James Deighan, Founder of Mega Cat Studios.

A modern retro-platformer with many classic elements.

As previously said, this title is a platformer that borrows heavily on Capcom’s Mega Man. Despite the fact that it was only recently published for the NES, 8bit Legit brings bright characters, rich scenery, and massive bosses to the Xbox One.

Trophy

Trophy is a tribute to classic running, leaping, and shooting techniques, striving for a pure platforming experience free of superpowers and useless skills. Nonetheless, the game will have technological breakthroughs that are uncommon in homebrews of the genre.

Trophy strikes the right chord of high quality, authentic retro that has lasting power. This is just the beginning, and we cannot wait to announce the release schedule of games to the community,” Deighan added.

Trophy is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X on December 17, 2021. It retails for $9.99 at the Xbox Store.
