Turner Plans Game Network

Turner Broadcasting, home to TBS, TNT, and CNN, has unveiled an on-demand video game service that will allow customers to access hundreds of games via high-speed Internet connections. Known as GameTap, the service will launch this fall with 300 games from 17 publishers. New titles will be released weekly, with over 1,000 licensed titles so far.

Subscribers to GameTap will have an “all-you-can-play” gaming service on up to two personal computers. The games are downloaded to the customers’ PC, giving them faster response times. If a subscriber decides to stop paying the monthly fee of between an estimated $10 and $20, they will no longer be able to play the games.
