Twitch is lowering the payout threshold to $50

Twitch is lowering the payout threshold slowly across the globe.

Creators on Twitch can claim their earnings sooner thanks to a lower payout threshold. The rollout is happening worldwide starting today in Argentina, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, and Taiwan with more countries on the way in the months to come.

Here’s what Twitch has to say about the changes:

We understand how important it is for you to quickly access the money you earn from streaming. This lower $50 threshold is one important step towards creating a faster, easier payout experience. One day, we’d love for you to wrap up your stream and already have the money you earned from that stream in your wallet. As we aim for lower payout thresholds, we’re focusing on building a trustworthy, accurate, and globally accessible experience for everybody.

You can expect your money to roll into your account once the change comes to your country. Phased rollouts begin July 15 and continue monthly as we add new countries through November. Don’t worry, we’ll let you know when you become eligible for the $50 threshold. We’re releasing this month-by-month to ensure we do this correctly and can support the needs of Creators everywhere while we do it.

The payments are still available through our most payment methods: ACH/direct deposit, eCheck/local bank, PayPal, and check. However, processing wire transfer payouts still require a $100 minimum. This is due to transfer fees.
