The NFL season kicks off tomorrow and some of the biggest names in the game are trying out a new sport: hockey. Ultimate Rivals: The Rink, an arcade-style hockey game on Apple Arcade, features players from across the sports world.
Bit Fry Game Studios is bringing NFL players to Ultimate Rivals: The Rink. Odell Beckham Jr., JJ Watt, Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brews, Juhu Smith-Schuster, and Russell Wilson are taking to the ice as playable characters.
Bit Fry has secured licensing agreements with several major professional sports organizations. They have deals with the NHL, NHL Players’ Association, NBA, National Basketball Players Association, MLB, MLB Players Association, Women’s National Basketball Players Association, and USWNTPA. The NFL Players Association is the latest.
The hockey game already lets you play as some of the world’s top athletes. You can team up LeBron James and Mike Trout against Alex Morgan and Mookie Betts for fun, fast-paced hockey action. Not all of the athletes are currently active, either. It even has hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.
