It’s been forever since Valorant released their last agent, which was Vyse way back in August of 2024. The game’s been long overdue for another addition to the roster and the time has finally come. Riot Games has officially announced the arrival of the new Colombian agent known as Tejo. Taking the role of an Initiator, Tejo will leave no stones unturned and no corners unchecked with his explosive abilities.
It seems like Valorant plans to kick off the New Year with a bang indeed, because most of the new agent’s kit relies on stunning and exploding. Even his name, ‘Tejo’, refers to a Colombian game by the same name, which includes throwing discs on a small board filled with gunpowder. Very fitting!
We’ll be going over each of his abilities and seeing what they do in detail, so that you can be prepared once he finally releases for everyone on Valorant. Let’s get to it!
What is Tejo’s Role in Valorant?
Valorant hasn’t officially confirmed yet, but leaks suggest that Tejo will be an Initiator. It’s easy to determine from his skills as well, which are very similar to other initiators like Sova or Breach. He has the ability to gain information from drones and also push people out of spaces to gain information on their positions, allowing his team to safely attack a site.
Tejo’s Abilities
Now we’ll take a look at what his abilities are in detail, which include guided missiles, a tactical strike, an enemy revealing drone and a grenade.
Special Delivery
Special Delivery lets Tejo equip a sticky grenade which sticks to the first wall it lands on and explodes on impact, concussing anyone that it hits. You can also choose to bounce this grenade once, just like a Sova arrow. Great for forcing people out of corners and making them completely helpless as you go in for an easy kill.
We can’t wait to see the lineups with this one!
Stealth Drone
Throw out a cute drone that you can control like Skye’s tiger and hunt down enemies. You can explode the drone using the left mouse button which will stun AND reveal the enemies that are hit.
This is great for when you’re entering a site and you need immediate information on the enemies’ positions. Not to mention, if you can manage to stun them, agents like Jett or Neon can quickly close the gap and go in for an easy kill.
Guided Salvo
From the pop up map that shows up when you press this ability, you might start to think that it lets Tejo throw down smokes, but that’s not the case! Instead, you can send out guided missiles on up to two areas of the map, which will explode several times on impact.
A great ability for aggressive pushes, you can use this both for pressuring the enemy or forcing them out of positions, which is something Tejo seems to excel at with his kit in general.
Armageddon (Ultimate)
Tejo’s ultimate allows you to call in a literal tactical strike on the map, obliterating anything or anyone in its path. Press the button once to open up a tactical map where you can set the starting point of the strike. Press again to confirm the ending point and launch the attack. This will unleash a wave of explosions along the intended path, possibly dealing damage and stunning the enemy as well.
We don’t entirely know the full details of the Arnageddon, but it definitely looks like Breach’s ultimate on crack.
When is Tejo Coming to Valorant?
Tejo will be available for players to use and unlock as soon as Valorant Season 2025 Act 1 releases on January 8th, 2025.
Tejo’s Contract Cosmetics
As usual, Tejo will also get his own set of rewards that players can unlock as they progress through his contract, claiming cosmetics like sprays, banner cards, titles and a gun skin tailored to Tejo’s aesthetics and style.

Tejo’s Playstyle in Valorant
Undoubtedly, from what we can see through his abilities, Tejo will have a very aggressive playstyle, similar to how Breach works but with the ability to gain visual information about the enemy as well. We can see that thanks to his drone, which you can use to scout an area and also concuss + reveal them, gaining the upper hand on a fight very easily.
Not to mention, his two other abilities are great for opening up fights and pressurizing the opponent, so it’s no wonder that he’ll be a menace to deal with on the attacking side of things. We can’t say for sure how good he’ll be on defence though, since most of his skills are catered towards pushing enemies.
Regardless, these are all theoretical questions and we’ll get all our answers once he actually releases and everyone starts to play him. All the different play styles you can achieve with Tejo will come to light and we can say for certain he’ll shift the meta by quite a bit.
