Despite launching as the hot new item, the PS Vita has quickly cooled off. Sony’s latest handheld only sold 72,479 units in its second week on the market, according to Media Create. The Nintendo 3DS, PSP, Wii, and PS3 all beat out PS Vita in hardware sales. The 3DS lead the pack with 482,200 units sold, buoyed by high-profile releases. Three of the top five games right now in Japan are on the 3DS: Mario Kart 7 (#1), Super Mario 3D Land (#3), and Monster Hunter Tri-G (#4).
