Rick May – the voice actor behind Peppy Hare and Andross from Star Fox 64 – has died from complications with COVID-19. He was 79 years old.
In addition to his work on Star Fox, May lent his voice to other video games. This includes his work as the narrator and Genghis Khan in Age of Empires II. He was also The Soldier in Team Fortress 2. In addition, he appeared in films, TV shows, and commercials.
Peppy Hare’s “Do a barrel roll!” line has become a famous Internet meme. In fact, it’s so prolific that typing and entering “do a barrel roll” on Google will result in the search engine doing exactly that.
