A new trailer out today gives us an extended look at the gameplay in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
The gameplay reveal provides a detailed overview of the core gameplay, as well as a deep dive into one of the game’s most iconic missions, “A Trip to the Country.” Developer Hangar 13’s president and chief creative officer, Haden Blackman, narrates the trailer.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is described as a “comprehensive, built-from-the-ground-up” remake of the original PS2-era Mafia. The game launches on September 25 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The remake features an updated script filled with rich new dialogue, expanded backstories, and additional cutscenes. Plus, players also find all-new gameplay sequences and features, updated cinematics, and other enhancements.
2K Games announced the Definitive Edition in May as part of Mafia: Trilogy. Last month, 2K Games released the first official narrative trailer. Fans who purchase Mafia: Trilogy digitally prior to September 25 gain immediate access Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition.

The original Mafia is still one of my favorite games from the PS2 era. It’s exciting to see the game get a modern remake. Honestly, though, I would have preferred to see this running on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X!
