Pokémon Unite is expected this month on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. But what exactly is it?
Despite the fact that the Nintendo Direct for E3 2021 was held just last month, the expo could not leave us without news concerning the Pokémon series. On this occasion, the major news was Pokémon Unite, a new and innovative game in the long-running and much-beloved franchise.
Pokémon Unite is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) comparable to League of Legends in which we fight in 5v5 real-time combat. However, there will be additional modifications because the game will be free to play, available on mobile devices (Android and iOS), and will support cross-platform play.
We can go from Nintendo Switch to mobile without losing our progress or the material we paid on the other device if we use our Nintendo Account or our Pokémon Trainer Club Account. Furthermore, the game does not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription and has voice chat, a friends list with its own chat system, and stickers, among other things.
Pokémon Unite will be the franchise’s second installment this year, following the spectacular comeback of Pokémon Snap and a new chapter of the same on mobile devices, where we can also discover apps like Pokémon Smile and Pokémon Cafe Mix.
