The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is among the inductees into the World Video Game Hall of Fame for 2022.
The Strong National Museum of Play’s Video Game Hall of Fame just inducted four more classic video games. The honors go to several games that paved the way for their genres or are otherwise cultural icons.
In the museum’s own words, the designation “recognizes individual electronic games of all types—arcade, console, computer, handheld, and mobile—that have enjoyed popularity over a sustained period and have exerted influence on the video game industry or on popular culture and society in general.”
This year’s inductees include:
- Dance Dance Revolution
- Ms. Pac-Man
- Sid Meier’s Civilization
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Previous inductees include games like Pong, Doom, The Oregon Trail, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tetris, and Super Mario Bros. You can learn more about the World Video Game Hall of Fame here.
