Xbox 360’s ”Slight Gain” in Japan
When you have to make news headlines about an uptick in sales of 700 week-over-week, you know a system is in trouble. The Xbox 360 is in that situation in Japan where reports put it at 1,897 units sold from June 26 to July 2, 2006. That’s a jump from 1,169 units one week prior. The news is hardly something to celebrate for Microsoft. It pales in comparison to the Nintendo DS, which sold 153,566 units, the PSP’s 25,935 units, and the 23,133 units that the PS2 managed to sell. In fact, so far for the year the Nintendo DS is both #1 and #2 in hardware sales. The DS Lite has sold the most, followed by the original DS model.
