XCOM: Chimera Squad launched today on PC via Steam. It’s a brand new standalone adventure in the XCOM universe.
As far as the timeline, XCOM: Chimera Squad takes place five years after the events of the previous XCOM games. (Our friends at Hardcore Droid consider XCOM: Enemy Within to be the best in the franchise.)
As for the game’s story, humanity has successfully overthrown the Elder’s control of the earth. Humans, aliens, and hybrids must find a way to move on from the conflict, forge a new civilization, and learn to co-exist.

2K Games is offering up Chimera Squad with a launch discount of $9.99. In fact, you can find it for just $9.50 at Green Man Gaming. The special introductory pricing goes away on May 1. At that point, the price will go up to $19.99.
