Microsoft has announced that several games are leaving Xbox Game Pass for console, cloud, and PC. The games leaving Xbox Game Pass in August 2023 include Death Stranding, Total War: Warhammer III, and more.
Here are the games that are leaving later this month and when:
August 15
- Death Stranding (PC)
- Edge of Eternity (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Midnight Fight Express (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Total War: Warhammer III (PC)
August 31
- Black Desert (Cloud and Console)
- Commandos 3 – HD Remaster (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Immortality (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Nuclear Throne (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Surgeon Simulator 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Tinykin (Cloud, Console, and PC)
If you haven’t beaten these games, you still have a few days to do so. Of course, new games come just as old games leave. Recently added titles or games coming soon include Broforce Forever, Everspace 2, A Short Hike, and more.
No one ever wants to see games leave the service, but alas they do. The good news is that new games are added every month as well. You can always find out what games are coming soon to Xbox Game Pass.
Big losses for PC Game Pass
A couple of the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in August 2023 are isolated to PC Game Pass. The losses of Death Stranding and Total War: Warhammer III on PC are particularly notable.
Death Stranding comes from renowned Japanese game developer Hideo Kojima. It is the first game from his studio, Kojima Productions, since leaving Konami and the Metal Gear Solid franchise behind.
Total War: Warhammer III is another big loss, although PC gamers will only get impacted. Total War: Warhammer III is a turn-based strategy and real-time tactics game from Sega and developer Creative Assembly. It is part of the popular Total War franchise, though the game is set in the Warhammer universe.
