Romancelvania is a dark comedy dating platformer.
Indie developer The Deep End Games and publisher 2124 Publishing have released a new Romancelvania demo as part of the fall iteration of Steam Next Fest.
The Kickstarter-backed project features Drac, lord of vampires and thief of hearts. You’ll play as a lovelorn, brooding Drac who, after a century of moping around, is thrown into a monster reality-dating show. The show’s host is none other than the Grim Reaper.
“If I’m being honest, letting the unsuspecting public demo Romancelvania in this year’s Steam Next Fest showcase is the only ethical thing to do,” said Creative Director Bill Gardner. “If we just up and released Drac’s outlandish, satirical journey to smash his way back to happiness, they may not be able to handle it. I mean, people need to ease into the absurdity of classic monsters starring in a reality dating show.”
Romancelvania is coming to PC via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in early 2023. Fans who want to sink their teeth into some side-scrolling action and tongue-in-cheek romance can download the demo and wishlist the game on Steam.
