A Plague Tale: Requiem million players milestone reached

It’s a big milestone for A Plague Tale: Requiem.

Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment announced today that A Plague Tale: Requiem has surpassed one million players worldwide. The milestone comes just one week after its launch on PC and consoles.

The companies did not release a breakdown of sales. However, Requiem is available for free with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. So it’s probably safe to assume that a sizable portion of players are playing on Xbox, although the PS5 version benefits from DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Requiem reunites players with Amicia and Hugo. Early in the game, you find Hugo and Amicia playing in the woods as they come upon the ruins of an old, abandoned castle. Well, at least they think so.

Throughout the game, you’ll embark on a journey to the south of 14th-century France and beyond looking for the cure to heal Hugo’s illness. Discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival within a dark, plague-ridden medieval world twisted by otherworldly forces.

“Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio are thrilled by such a vibrant, positive reception and can’t wait to hear all the thoughts and feelings that players will share in the future as they journey through the darkness with Amicia and Hugo,” the companies said in a statement.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. There is also a cloud version on Nintendo Switch.
