Call of Duty matchmaking fixed on Xbox consoles

It’s a wise move from Microsoft and Activision to bring back the original Call of Duty games on Xbox 360.

Call of Duty fans rejoice! Activision has fixed the matchmaking issues that have been plaguing Xbox 360 titles for months. This means that players can now find matches more easily and quickly, regardless of the game they’re playing. The fix was implemented on July 16, 2023.

In a statement, Activision said:

We’re aware that some players have been experiencing matchmaking issues with Xbox 360 Call of Duty titles. We’ve been working on a fix and are happy to announce that it has been implemented. Players should now be able to find matches more easily and quickly.

OG Call of Duty is back!

This surprising server fix by the Xbox team is a welcome relief for Call of Duty fans who have been frustrated by the matchmaking issues. For many players, the ability to find matches quickly and easily is essential to enjoying the game.

The problem is that not only Xbox players have been getting difficulties with this. Also the PC and PS3 players deal with this daily. The fix will make it easier for Xbox 360 players to connect with friends and other players. Although thanks to the new agreement between Sony and Xbox to keep the COD titles on PlayStation, we could see these fixes coming to the Sony consoles.

We can say that these changes are due to the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Xbox. Therefore, we can keep getting a bunch of changes to the franchise games in the future months. And, hopefully, we get a new hackers system to prevent player from using third party programs to enhance their skills.

And surprisingly, this movement by Xbox and Activision is working out. In the past 2 days there has been an avg of 100k+ players in the Xbox platforms. Most of the players are revisiting the classics Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 3! But every game from the franchise has gotten an increase on active players in the last hours.

Not even one change to matchmaking on PC or PS3

In addition to fixing the matchmaking issues, Activision has also made some other improvements to the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S Call of Duty titles. These improvements include:

  • Increased stability
  • Reduced lag
  • Improved performance

These improvements will make the Xbox 360 Call of Duty titles more enjoyable for all players. But, for PlayStation and PC players, everything stays the same. Although, we hope that Activision take this changes to these platforms too.

If you’re a Call of Duty fan who has been playing on Xbox 360, be sure to check out the new matchmaking fix. But, if you are a PlayStation user, be sure to get Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with PlayStation Plus this month.
