Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II reboot announced

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot is getting a sequel.

Activision confirmed on Twitter that they are working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. This is not to be confused with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2009 as the sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Both Modern Warfare (2007) and Modern Warfare 2 (2009) also received remasters. No, this is a sequel to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot from 2019.

Got all of that? Yeah, we’re kinda confused too at this point.

Anyhoo, this latest entry in the Modern Warfare sub-series is light on details at the moment. In fact, Activision only tweeted out the game’s logo. It presumably is coming to PC and consoles – PS5 and Xbox Series X. Seeing as how there are so few next-gen exclusives, we are definitely betting on PS4 and Xbox One versions as well.

Although Microsoft is buying Activision for $68.7 billion, the company has said that it will continue to release Call of Duty games on PlayStation consoles – at least for now. So if you are a PS5 player and COD fan, don’t worry about that with this entry in the franchise. Of course, there is no guarantee that future COD games will appear on PS5. We can fairly confidently predict that it will be on Xbox Game Pass though.
