CD Projekt Red acquires American studio The Molasses Flood

CD Projekt Red has announced the acquisition of The Molasses Flood, a Boston-based indie studio comprised of Bioshock, Halo, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band veterans.

The Molasses Flood, developers of the indie hit The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, is already working on a project based on one of CD Projekt Red’s famous IPs.

A union to empower both sides

The Molasses Flood issued a statement on social media stating that they will maintain their independence, even though their official branding will most likely include “a CD Projekt studio.” They also expect to hire more people to work on the project, which will be set in a Polish company franchise.

“We’re always on the lookout for teams who make games with heart,” says Adam Kiciński, President and Joint CEO from CD Projekt.

“The Molasses Flood share our passion for video game development, they’re experienced, quality-oriented, and have great technological insight. I’m convinced they will bring a lot of talent and determination to the group,” he added.

We just have to pay attention to the updates provided by The Molasses Flood about the new IP they are working on. Knowing that CD Projekt does not want to repeat the same mistake as Cyberpunk 2077, we can expect a hit game to be released.
