Charon’s Staircase is a Spanish horror game with elements of Outlast and a very dark narrative.

When we talk about hardcore horror games, it is common for games like Outlast, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, or Phasmophobia to come up. These are games that from the beginning you run the risk of suffering a heart attack. Even so, it is a very little exploited genre with titles that fail to give that feeling of pure horror. Indigo Studios, in collaboration with Soedesco, teamed up to bring to light a game that will bring the genre back on-trend.

Their new game, Charon’s Staircase, presents us with a horror adventure through Central Europe that will make your hair stand on end. This game, made by Spanish developers, takes elements of great titles of the genre like Outlast. We have already heard about the announcement for PC, but it’s time for console gamers to get ready to receive this creepy game.

Get ready for a terrifying adventure through Central Europe

Charon’s Staircase presents us with an immersive horror game, with a gloomy atmosphere from the first-person perspective. Players are placed in Central Europe, where we are hired to erase a part of the region’s dark totalitarian past. From the shoes of agent Desmond, we arrive at the Oack Grove estate. It’s a place that in the ’70s recorded terrible events.

These events were recorded in documents. The problem is that these documents are in the dark, dark, and mysterious estate. These documents record all the atrocious deeds carried out during the totalitarian regime known as “The Ministry”. So it is our duty to find, retrieve and destroy these documents while suffering in this horror game where jump scares are a must.

Charon’s Staircase was previously announced for PC via Steam. Today, they have announced that the game will expand its frontiers. In October of this year, the game is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
