PC gamers got a dose of good news earlier in the day when Valve announced that DOTA 2 would be released early. Blizzard gave them some disappointing news by announcing that Diablo III would not be released until early 2012. The game went into closed beta three days ago.

“This week we pulled together people from all of the teams involved with the game to decide whether we felt it would be ready before the end of December, and we grudgingly came to the conclusion that it would not,” Activision Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime explained.
