Bethesda and Limited Run Games are teaming up to bring a physical edition of Doom 64 to PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
In addition to a Standard Edition, the company is also releasing the Classic Edition. It includes the standard version of Doom 64 plus retro-style packaging and a commemorative metal cartridge. The non-functional cartridge is reminiscent of the N64 era.
The Standard Edition retails for $24.99. The Classic Edition with the extra goodies retails for $54.99. Pre-orders are open now exclusively through the Limited Run Games website.
After hints surfaced in 2019, a digital version of Doom 64 launched earlier this year on PS4 via PlayStation Store, Switch via Nintendo eShop, and Xbox One via Microsoft Store.
My Take
The Classic Edition is a pretty neat package. Plus, I love the Nintendo 64 cartridge and packaging. Well done, Limited Run Games!
Of course, you’d have to love Doom 64 to pay $55 for that – although the price isn’t outrageous, considering everything that is included. It is surprising though that Xbox One isn’t getting any love, considering Microsoft just bought Bethesda.
I want a physical copy of Doom 64 for Xbox One. There is no way to contact xbox, the robot takes me to a dead end, there is no number to call. And they do not accept my phone number. Im stuck. How on earth do I get the physical game? If anyone can help please let me know Thanks
They only made physical copies on PS4 and Switch.
