Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a new co-op mode coming in fall 2020

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends

Sucker Punch announced this morning that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a new online co-op mode coming to the game later this fall as a free download.

Legends is described as an “entirely new experience” that’s separate from Jin Sakai and his cast of companions. It focuses on four warriors and allows two to four players. Legends is “haunting and fantastical” with locations and enemies that draw inspiration from Japanese folk tales and myths.

Here’s more from Darren Bridges, senior game designer at Sucker Punch:

We designed Legends to be an exclusively cooperative gameplay experience. You’ll be able to partner up with friends or via online matchmaking and play Legends in groups of 2-4 players. Each player can choose from one of four different character classes: the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. Each class has unique advantages and abilities that we’ll reveal in the future.

With two players in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, you’ll be able to play a series of co-op Story missions that escalate in difficulty, building on the foundation of combat from the single-player campaign but with new magical twists that often require careful synchronization with your partner.

Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world action-adventure game released exclusively on PS4 in July 2020. You play as a samurai defending Tsushima Island from a Mongol invasion. The game has received broadly positive reviews, averaging an 85 out of 100 on OpenCritic.
