Sony’s first home console was released to American consumers on September 9, 1995 at the price of $299. Today, Sony has claimed to have sold well over 100 million PlayStation units worldwide. The PlayStation 2 is on-track to outsell the PlayStation however, with its 90+ million worldwide so far.
