Microsoft Store taking Xbox Series S orders, but they won’t arrive until December

Microsoft Store Xbox Series S

Didn’t snag an Xbox Series X or S on launch day? Microsoft Store has you covered, at least for the Series S.

The Microsoft Store is taking orders for Xbox Series S. This is the smaller, all-digital model of Microsoft’s next-gen console. The system is “designed to play games at 1440p at 60 frames per second, with support for up to 120fps,” we previously reported.

The Xbox Series S retails for $299. That compares quite favorably with the Xbox Series X, which retails for $499. But you’ll also want to compare the specs before you decide on which model is right for you.

Also, it’s worth noting that the Microsoft Store is not shipping these orders right away. “Due to increased holiday demand, products will not ship until the end of December,” the product page says in all caps.

Microsoft Store is offering free shipping and free returns on the Xbox Series S console. They’re also limiting orders to one console per customer due to the high demand. We’ll let you know if we learn about more retailers with a fresh stock of the Xbox Series X and S.
