Narcos: Rise of the Cartels brings the Netflix series to life on PC and consoles

The hit Netflix series Narcos is getting its own video game. Narcos: Rise of the Cartels launches next month.

In Rise of the Cartels, players relive events from the first season. You either take the side of the DEA or Medellin Cartel in two distinct campaigns set in 1980s Columbia.

Publisher Curve Digital says that the game features iconic locations and characters from the show, “offering players the chance to step into the criminal underworld alongside characters such as El Mexicano, Murphy, Peña, Primo and more.”

Each of the characters comes with their own unique gameplay abilities and perks to help turn the battle. Players will explore familiar scenery from the show and “take a pivotal role in world-altering events that will define and shift the war on drugs.”

Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is a tactical turn-based game in the vein of XCOM. Players are able to form their own teams from a variety of class-specific roles and upgrade their skills. You will be able to take direct control of units at critical moments.

The game will launch digitally on November 19 for PC and PS4, November 21 on Nintendo Switch, and November 22 on Xbox One.
