Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Starts Strong

The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service has started strong with a reported 200,000 unique users using the service as of December 6, according to published reports from Nintendo of America. The games currently supporting Wi-Fi play include Animal Crossing: Wild World, Mario Kart DS and Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land. “That number is expected to grow exponentially in the next few weeks as the holidays fast approach. With the breakout success of Animal Crossing: Wild World in Japan and North America, look for more and more people to get hooked on the new Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection,” Nintendowifi.com reports. Nintendo also says that between the release of Mario Kart DS and the Sunday following, more than 112,000 people in the United States had purchased the game. In the same time frame, nearly 52,000 unique users had logged onto Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
