PS Vita Memory Cards Will Cost As Much As $120

Expecting to buy the PlayStation Vita next year? You better save up your pennies if you plan on getting a memory card for downloading games. The company revealed that the largest memory card for their proprietary format at 32GB will retail for $120. That compares rather unfavorably to the universal SD format. You can get a 32GB SD card for as little as $35 on Amazon.com.

To be fair to Sony, the smaller cards are considerably cheaper in price, although equally outrageous when compared to the SD format. A tiny 4GB card will cost $24.99, the 8GB card $39.99 and the 16GB card $69.99. That is about five times the price of a standard 4GB SD card. One can see where they plan to make a profit.
