Synth Riders update adds Spiral Mode later this week

Synth Riders Spiral Mode

The new Spiral Mode continues the development team’s tradition of providing regular, free updates that excite players and give them new ways to enjoy Synth Riders.

The last few days of October have been jam-packed with video game industry news. Today, our friends at Kluge Interactive announced that their VR rhythm title, Synth Riders, will be getting a new game mode. The update introduces a new stage and a new song, both of which are available for free to players across all VR platforms.

Synth Riders is a difficult VR rhythm game in which a player must hit different colored notes and note streams that fly by on either side of them.

Each note is a three-dimensional sphere that zooms by to the beat of the pulsating retro synthesizer songs. Blue notes must be struck with the left hand, pink notes with the right hand, green notes with one hand only (either right or left), and orange notes with both hands simultaneously.

The Spiral Mode adds a new twist to familiar gameplay by spiraling the playfield around a special new cylindrical stage. The player is guided by walls and arrows through twists and turns as they lean their entire body from side to side to follow the line of play.

The new mode is designed to give players an adrenaline rush as they progress through three intensities, each with more powerful turns and challenges to match. “Spiral Mode” is available in every song and difficulty level, with the majority of modifiers, and in all areas, including Multiplayer.

An amazing soundtrack

The game has an incredible selection of songs that will accompany you on each level. Kluge Interactive is celebrating this new release with the addition of a new, free song “Go!” by the incredible synthwave duo, Dance With The Dead.

This killer blend of synth and guitar, just in time for Halloween, will have players ready to turn their Synth Riders world upside down. With the addition of “Go!” to the music library, Synth Riders now has 55 free songs. DLC includes 30 additional tracks, including hits by Muse, The Offspring, and Caravan Palace.

Abraham Aguero Benzecri, creative director at Klunge Interactive says:

I’m excited to enhance our players’ experience even more with this twist on our gameplay, it’s not like anything we’ve seen in a VR rhythm game before!  Personally, I love playing Spiral Mode because the mechanic gives me a feeling of challenge and speed that reminds me so much of skating – one of my favorite hobbies! I hope that Spiral Mode will find many fans among Synth Riders players.

The new “Spiral Mode,” a new stage, and a new song by Dance With The Dead will be available as a free update to all Synth Riders players on Oculus Quest, PlayStation VR, Steam, and Viveport on October 28th.
