Wrath of the Lich King is finally coming to World of Warcraft Classic

World of Warcraft WOTLK

Considered to be the best expansion ever released in WoW, Wrath of the Lich King Classic plans to bring together all World of Warcraft players.

Since the announcement of World of Warcraft Classic, only one expansion came to the minds of all players: Wrath of the Lich King. The releases after this retail game expansion left a lot to be desired. For this reason, many players keep this expansion on the throne of the best that have been released.

This is one of the reasons why so many players continue to play WoW on private servers. But Blizzard has always taken this into account. So, after many years of waiting and many rumors, Wrath of the Lich King Classic will finally become a reality. The best thing about it? We have the release of the expansion less than three months away!

An expansion that seeks to unite the World of Warcraft community once again

Wrath of the Lich King stopped being officially supported by Blizzard since the release of Cataclysm in 2010. But, with Wrath of the Lich King having the highest average player count in World of Warcraft history, many players were stuck with the expansion. Therefore, as a solution to this, many players considered playing on private servers where Wrath of the Lich King could be played.

Over the years, more and more players abandoned the official game servers and opted for these private servers with Wrath of the Lich King. Blizzard studied the situation and came to the conclusion that players not only missed Wrath of the Lich King, but the classic WoW experience. Consequently, World of Warcraft Classic was launched in 2019.

This raised great expectations from all World of Warcraft players. Both retail players and private server players had one thought in common: Wrath of the Lich King Classic. This was even confirmed with the release of Burning Crusade Classic. This possible release of Wrath of the Lich King Classic not only caught the attention of active WoW players, it also caught the attention of older players who had abandoned the game a decade ago.

It is well known that Blizzard plans with Wrath of the Lich King Classic to bring all these players back together in this new expansion. They not only promise the classic game experience but different changes that were requested at the time by the community in order to upgrade the gaming experience.

Northrend, upgrades, and a lot of nostalgia

Wrath of the Lich King Classic arrives to take us on a trip directly to the best moment of World of Warcraft, where the accumulation and strategic use of WotLK gold will be more crucial than ever. In this new expansion, we can revisit dungeons like the Culling of Stratholme and Azjol-Nerub. In addition, we will be able to face in the band for 10 players of Naxxramas, with the opportunity to earn WotLK gold, counting also the achievements that arrived with this expansion and that allows us to have new rewards for our feats.

Last April, Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment, talked a bit about the launch of this new expansion: “We are thrilled to revisit one of the most beloved eras in Warcraft history with Wrath of the Lich King Classic.”

“The original release of this expansion brought many upgrades to the game, as well as one of its most well-known villains and an epic story. We are making sure to preserve the most authentic experience for those looking to relive their glory days in Northrend, and offer a worthy recreation to those embarking on this epic adventure for the first time,” Ybarra added.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic also adds changes to its talent system and changes to the PvP section of the game – two very important changes that the community requested in 2008. All this and much more will be waiting for World of Warcraft players in Northrend on September 26, 2022. It is undoubtedly a date that will go down in the history of World of Warcraft and Blizzard.
