Our friends over at Slashdot have reported some big news for Xbox 360 owners. “There have been several postings over at Xbox-scene complaining of crashing Xbox’s on new games (click link), with default settings on single player. Crashes on Xbox Live and on startup have been reported too, and Project Gotham Racing 3 crashes before finishing the first lap.
Our very own Cliff Bakehorn is a pissed off little monkey at this wee hour of the night. Here’s a little taste of Cliff’s rant from the forum:
-Freezing. Already said it. Madden NFL 06 freezes almost 50% of the time that I play it.
-Black Screen of Doom. During games of Perfect Dark Zero, Condemned, Madden NFL 06, and Need for Speed Most Wanted, I’ve gotten a completely random black screen that is the same as the console freezing, though the music usually still plays and the disc still spins.
-Disc Domination. Maybe it’s my Xbox 360, but my game discs could be used to roast a Christmas dinner after about a half-hour of gameplay. I see where Microsoft is trying to make everything have multiple purposes–now the game discs are being used as heaters.
-Hard drive…ERASED. That’s right, after completing Condemned (12 hours), playing a lot of NBA 2K6/NHL 2K6/Perfect Dark Zero/Madden NFL 06/NBA Live 06/Need for Speed: Most Wanted (about 40 hours combined), my hard drive completely wiped itself out when I installed Xbox Live onto my system. All I can ask…and these are the same words I screamed with bloodlust when I saw that everything had been erased…is WHAT THE ****? WHAT IN GOD’S NAME IS UP WITH THIS CRAP?!
