A Guide for Seluvis’s Quest in Elden Ring

A Guide for Seluvis’s Quest in Elden Ring

This is a guide for Seluvis’s Quest in Elden Ring. I will attempt to be as simple and brief as possible with the guide while also explaining what needs to be known.

All the locations for objectives and characters are also included in this guide. The lore and many of the plot details of Seluvis and other associated questlines will not be discussed here.

If you’re completing this questline just for completion’s sake, you don’t really have to consider the lore deeply. But if you’re like me and trying to learn as much as possible about the lore as well, speak with associated characters of this quest and exhaust their dialogue; read the descriptions of items you obtain through the questline.

A very obvious disclaimer: this guide contains spoilers. So without further ado, let’s delve into the guide.

These are the locations where you can find Seluvis, Ranni, and Pidia. Pidia is in the Caria Manor. The other two character’s locations are marked with their respective names.

Meeting Seluvis

After clearing out the Caria Manor in Liurnia of the Lakes, you can speak to Ranni at Ranni’s Rise. In order to access this location, you must go through the Caria Manor. Speaking with Ranni will kick off her questline and Seluvis’s questline is attached to it.

After speaking with Ranni and agreeing to serve her, you can find a spectral Seluvis on the tower’s ground floor. He will ask you to come to visit him – albeit quite disrespectfully – at Seluvis’s Rise.

The Potion

He will give you a potion and instructs you to give it to Nepheli Loux. If you’ve progressed enough in Nepheli’s questline, you will find her in the Roundtable Hold.

You can either give this potion to Nepheli, which results in her being turned into a puppet. You can then use this puppet as a Spirit Summon. So, if you’re aiming to collect every Ashen Remain, you’ll have to trick Nepheli into drinking this unholy potion…

But you do have the choice to give the potion to Gideon Ofnir and dispose of it. You can continue Seluvis’s questline with this method as well. Or you can give the potion to the Dung Eater and he will turn into a puppet you can summon.

Seluvis’s Plan for Ranni

After continuing to support the disrespectful Seluvis on his wretched aspirations, you will have to find the entrance to his secret chamber, where he houses his puppets. This place near Ranni’s Rise is hidden with an illusory wall. In this chamber, you will find a message. Interact with it and go back to Seluvis. He will then offer you one of his puppets. Choose either one you prefer.

Now you can use any acquired Starlight Shards to buy the other puppet if you want. Note that you may need to reload the area a couple of times for him to sell the second puppet.

Seluvis will reveal his plan to make Ranni into a puppet and will ask you to fetch the Amber Starlight Shard. The location is given below.

You can also learn about this location by buying the Weathered Map from Pidia at Caria Manor.

After fetching the Amber Starlight Shard, Seluvis will give you a reward: the Magic Scorpion Charm.

Finalizing the quest

After reloading the area after the last step, talk to Seluvis and he will give you the Amber Draught. Now you’ll have to make Ranni drink this. Doing so will complete Seluvis’s quest, and make Ranni your enemy.

If you still want to continue Ranni’s questline after this betrayal, you can use the services of the Church of Vows to absolve yourself.
