Barbie will hit theaters on July 21st.
Hollywood and video games have always had a good connection from video game adaptations to collaborations between the two industries. However, this has been a bit lost. But, Microsoft, has announced a series of partnerships with Warner Bros. Pictures and Mattel to celebrate the upcoming release of the Barbie movie.
Among the collaborations are a customized Barbie-themed Xbox Series S, the first Barbie Xbox dolls, and two exclusive cars for Forza Horizon 5 – all stylish, colorful, and fun, in true iconic doll style.
Barbie and Ken’s style comes to Xbox
You may not know yet that Barbie will soon have a new movie in theaters. The Barbie movie will be a musical comedy that follows Barbie’s adventures in the magical world of Barbie Land and beyond. Margot Robbie playing the role of Barbie will discover her true potential to become an inspiration to all.
With the impact the movie will have, Microsoft is looking for a collaboration that will reconnect both industries. The Barbie Xbox Series S features a pink design with Barbie and Xbox logos. It also comes with a customized wireless controller with interchangeable faceplates based on Barbie and Ken’s outfits from the movie.
This special console will not be available for purchase but will be the prize of a contest to be launched on July 10 on the official Xbox website. In addition, the winner will also receive a set of 10 Barbie dolls equipped with Xbox Gear fashion, which are the first Barbie dolls created by Xbox.
And if that wasn’t enough, Forza Horizon 5 fans will also be able to enjoy two free cars inspired by those featured in the Barbie movie: a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette EV Classic Corvette in Barbie pink and a Ken’s GMC HUMMER EV 2022 pickup truck. Both cars are available starting today!
