Elden Ring is Japan’s best-selling game

Famitsu Elden Ring

Joining it at the top, the OLED Switch remains the best-selling hardware.

One more week, Famitsu shares one more Thursday the best-selling video games and hardware in the Japanese market. Although there are a lot of games (and hardware) that have been in the top for months, or even years, the revelation of this past week is Elden Ring, which in both its PS4 and PS5 versions, lead the top with more than 278k units sold in total.

In addition, From Software can be proud of its new work that has excited critics and fans, on PC has managed to sell more than 10 million units in less than a week. Amounts to expect from a game that since it was mentioned that it was in development, promised to generate a lot of sales.

Best-selling Hardware in Japan.

Nintendo Switch OLED Famitsu

Following Famitsu’s report, Nintendo Switch continues to be the best-selling hardware in the Japanese market. It is amazing what Nintendo sells in the Japanese market, as the 3 available Switch models are among the top 4 best sellers. In between, the PlayStation 5 has sold 15k units. The Hardware list is:

  • Switch OLED Model – 32,670 (1,278,322)
  • Switch – 24,867 (18,040,917)
  • PlayStation 5 – 15,418 (1,188,101)
  • Switch Lite – 12,695 (4,593,377)
  • Xbox Series S – 3,687 (72,136)
  • PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 1,614 (215,009)
  • Xbox X Series – 598 (84,927)
  • New 2DS LL (including 2DS) – 511 (1,182,805)
  • PlayStation 4 – 17 (7,819,342)

Elden Ring was a predicted success, but surprisingly, From Software managed to exceed the expectations of most of the industry and fans. It is possible that we will continue to see Elden Ring in the top for the next few weeks; just like the Nintendo Switch, that nobody moves it from the top of sales in Japan.
