Indie adventure Omno launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Omno

Omno, a beautifully animated indie adventure made by Jonas Manke, is out today on PC, consoles, and Xbox Game Pass.

It is common in the video game business to have development teams with many developers working on each title. Even indie studios often have a small crew, but games created by a single individual are rarely successful. Concerned Ape and Stardew Valley‘s story is one in a million, but it demonstrates that with a lot of love and effort, amazing things can be accomplished.

Jonas Manke, an animator and video game developer who works in the industry under the name Studio Inkyfox, has been another of those chosen ones who have managed to transform a PC project that was his hobby into a full-blown game. He has managed to raise more than $90k for the development of Omno through his Kickstarter page. Today, his work pays off thanks to the support of the title’s followers and backers.

All or nothing

After quitting his job, Jonas Manke dedicated his time and savings to Omno, an animated adventure game that slowly attracted more and more online users. After a while he decided to venture out and put his project on Kickstarter. Depending on the support, he would continue developing the game or leave the project aside for a while, work again to get some money, and take it up again.

Several months after, the project on Kickstarter had great support. After raising more than $90k of funds for the project, the project finally arrives on PC. And thanks to the Kickstarter support, Jonas Manke could afford to release his game also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the future he plans to release the game on Nintendo Switch.

An amazing adventure title

Jonas Manke’s game is a third-person adventure that will take you through lush forests, over a sun-blasted desert, across a cold tundra, and even to the clouds thanks to the might of a forgotten civilization. All of this while seeing weird animals, discovering numerous surprises, and perhaps making a friend along the way.

Omno, in addition to providing an interactive environment, challenges you with riddles, hidden secrets, and hurdles to conquer in the style of a 3D puzzle platformer. Jumping, running, interacting with weird monsters, and enjoying the scenery and animation will make this title a favorite of many in 2021.

Omno is out today on PC via Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 for $18.99. The game is also backward compatible on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. It has an upcoming version for the Nintendo Switch.
