Insomniac is making new Ratchet & Clank and Spider-Man games for PS5

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Two of the bigger PS5 game reveals from Sony’s presentation earlier today are a pair of new titles from Insomniac Games. The studio has been busy working on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which are heading to the next-gen console.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a sequel to the well-received 2016 reboot. PlayStation Blog describes it as “a brand new intergalactic adventure” designed around the DualSense controller and PS5’s built-in SSD. (Click here to check out the announcement trailer.)

“Players will seamlessly travel through different dimensions in mid-gameplay, thanks to PS5’s ultra-high-speed SSD. The DualSense wireless controller brings combat to life, with haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers adding powerful sensations that increase immersion in combat,” they add.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is the latest entry in the beloved Spider-Man universe. The game will build upon and expand on the PS4 hit Marvel’s Spider-Man, although now it will have the full power and speed of PS5 behind it. Here’s how PlayStation Blog describes it:

With PS5’s ultra-fast SSD, players can near-instantaneously fast-travel across Marvel’s New York City, or feel the tension of each one of Miles’s web-swings, punches, web shots, and venom blasts with the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback. Highly-detailed character models and enhanced visuals across the game intensify the story of Miles Morales as he faces great, new challenges while learning to be his own Spider-Man.
