League of Legends drops Facebook integration

Riot Games dropped support for Facebook in the latest League of Legends update, version 9.20, which is now live.

The game allowed players to easily find their friends in the game using their Facebook credentials. It also added your real name below your summoner name on the in-game friends’ list. Players will now have to search for friends using their summoner name instead.

Yesterday, Sony announced that PS4 is dropping Facebook integration. That change went into effect this week as well. The timing of the two announcements appears to be coincidental.
