Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel Ships

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel for the PlayStation Portable has shipped to retail stores throughout North America. A unique product for the PSP system that pushes the boundaries of video games and traditional comics, the game lets players experience the storyline of the first Metal Gear Solid game in an all-new way through animated sequences and a unique scan and search gameplay mechanic.

Highlighted by the artwork of renowned illustrator Ashley Wood, players can read through the game’s pages at their own pace, enjoying all-new layered animations, score and sound effects. Each segment of Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel is represented as a separate chapter, letting players experience this epic story as it was originally told in traditional comic book form.

At any point in the game, players can transition into a Mental Search Mode, carefully scanning each page to uncover more than 300 points of interest, including people, places, items and themes from the Metal Gear Solid series. Once these points of interest are collected, players can go into a Memory Building mode to uncover the relationships between these items and gain additional insight into the Metal Gear Solid universe.
