The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Most Iconic and Popular Video Game Trailers of all time

The legendary Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a game that will never die. Since its release in 2011, people still love it as they did at that time. Many veteran players say that the game feels like “home” to them, and that’s quite true. The music, the atmosphere, and the characters feel close to you. It’s more than a video game.

Among other reasons, it’s because of this, that players go and watch the legendary trailer every so often. It features a cinematic of the Dragonborn battling a dragon, and using the spectacular Fus Ro Dah shout. Paired with the gameplay footage and the exceptional theme song of the game, Skyrim’s trailer is still as bone-chilling as it was 12 years ago.

Batman: Arkham Origins

Most Iconic and Popular Video Game Trailers of all time

While Batman: Arkham Origins is considered to be the weaker entry of the franchise, that doesn’t make it a bad game in any way.

When we’re talking about the most iconic and popular video game trailers of all time, we simply cannot ignore the spectacular cinematic trailer of Arkham Origins. It features a fight between Deathstroke and Batman.

It’s more akin to a film than a video game trailer. The fight is choreographed excellently, with believable and smooth acrobatics and epic attacks by both Batman and Deathstroke.

Assassin’s Creed III

Most Iconic and Popular Video Game Trailers of all time

Assassin’s Creed III may be a game that was originally not as loved as the previous entries, but it has a brilliant trailer of a large-scale battle between the Redcoat soldiers of Britain and the Americans.

Amidst this larger battle, the assassin Connor hunts down a Templar who’s also the leader of the Redcoats in this battle. It’s cinematic and shows off the abilities of this new assassin in a jaw-dropping way.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3 and its DLCs have some of the greatest cinematic trailers of recent memory. For this entry, I’m specifically talking about the “Killing Monsters” trailer that features Geralt killing bandits, single-handedly and unarmed. It’s cold and chilling to see the Witcher showing no mercy to the bandits and the fact that he considers them to be monsters.

Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 is arguably the best entry in the franchise because of its tropical island setting and masterful story. The “Stranded” trailer of the game is cinematic, and it features a high-octane soundtrack that perfectly fits the game.

Vaas Montenegro appears in his usual charismatic yet terrifying way. Plus, the game’s hero, Jason Brody, makes a daring escape out of his compound in this trailer.

Grand Theft Auto V

Still considered to be one of the giants of the open-world genre, Grand Theft Auto V is another game that will not be forgotten for a long time. The trailer was released in 2011 and it has 86 million views as of the time of writing. That makes it one of the most viewed trailers in history.

While it is cinematic in a way, the visuals of the trailer resemble that of the gameplay itself. With a fitting song in the background and beautiful shots of the game world, this trailer is truly special and iconic.
